The Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTB) mourns an erstwhile Board member, Dr Bridget Nwanne Morenike Birabi (nee Okonkwo) who served as a member of the Board from 2004 to 2007.
A great leader, mentor and a very kind mother, she was known for possessing attributes worthy of emulation by all.
As a member of the Board, she was outspoken and aired her views all the time in order to ensure that standards of the Physiotherapy profession were upheld.

She had a postgraduate certificate in Health Planning and Management at the University of Ilorin in 1991 and in 1983, she became the HOD of General Hospital, Portharcourt.
In 1994, she retired from service and went on to dedicate herself to the profession by serving as a consultant and a lecturer to more than a few schools and physiotherapy clinics. EZELTHERAPY was also setup by her in Portharcourt to see to the needs of the people. She further served as the President of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy between 2004 and 2008, a position she held historically as the first female to occupy.
